Exploring in Evning Wear

Modesty's Red Satin River Bath

As we all know, a tomb raider can never be sure of when good fortune may strike, and so while planned expeditions will usually see our heroine in good practical combats or overalls, if an unexpected lead or hint of fabled treasure should happen to arrive while one is at dinner with the ambassador, well one has to be able to rise to the challenge in whatever one happens to be wearing at the time.

So it's important that young Modesty practices her river exploration techniques in evening gowns, as well as more practical attire.

So here she is, wearing a beautiful red satin evening gown, freshly donned over an already wet swimsuit (some of those diplomatic functions can get very kinky in places!), going into the river to practice her evening dress techniques. She gets the dress just a bit soggy!

Modesty Dale

An action archeologist in training!

Meet Modesty Dale, apprentice ruin-raider to Veronica Ravenblack!

Veronica has taken on an assistant, and sent her to Langstonedale to practice her wild-land exploring skills in readiness for her first trip to the Amazon.

Here we see Modesty exploring the river below the great viaduct near the Southern boundary of the Langstonedale lands. The river here is pure and fresh, but the water flows fast and the depths can be decptive where the water has scoured out the bed just downstream from the mighty Victorian stonework of the railway viaduct.

She gets to practice her skills of artefact identificaton too, though she suspects the objects she manages to extract from the waters may not quite fetch the same prices at auction as the lost mudstones of the Squishisquishi that she hopes to seek in South Ameroca might.

For now though, Modesty gets to test out her own favoured explorers outfit in the water, knee-high lace-up boots, slinky shiny PVC jeans, and a black swimsuit as a top.

Victorian Bathing with Modesty

Our tomb raider goes for a paddle in a Victorian bathing suit

When bathing, one should always be modest. Modesty knows this, and so she takes to the river below the viaduct in one of the household's beautifully demure 19th century style bathing dresses.

Dungaree Dipping!

Modesty, dressed in just swimsuit, pink rubber boots, and blue denim dungarees, goes for a paddle and splash in the stream flowing out from the infamous Tarn Of Usher, high on the wild moors of Langstonedale Chase, above the great house. She jumps and splashes and sits down in the stream, splashing herself until she's quite thoroughly soaked, she also goes for a little sit down in the mud at the side of the stream for a while.

Viaduct Boilersuit Blue

Modesty goes deep in the river!

Action-girl Modesty, practically dressed in a well-fitted bright blue boilersuit and blue wellington boots, gets herself absolutely soaked, and wades almost neck-deep, in the river below the viaduct at the southern boundary of Lady Jasmine's estate.

She happily jumps into the river, and wades deeper and deeper, the bright blue of her suit clearly showing exactly how far she's wet herself. We see her legs going under, then her trunk slides into the water, and eventualy she's standing almost neck-deep in the water, using her arms to raise great splashes of it above her head, standing just by the viaduct arches.

She then wades back slowly to shallower water, the camera following every step of the way, until she sits down in the flow and splashes more water over herself.

Plain, simple wetlook playing, in an outfit that really shows the colour change as it gets wet.

Formally Wet

Chastity takes a dip in a dress

Dressed in a beautiful purple satin formal dress, Chastity wades into the Langstonedale waters and soaks herself completely.

A Victorian Bathing Affair

Chastity takes to the water, 1890s style!

Dressed in a beautiful, hand-made replica Victorian bathing suit, made by a local seamstress to a genuine pattern from the final decade of Queen Victoria's long and glorious reign, Head Gardener Chastity takes to the estate river for a paddle.

Chastity is in fact re-enacting scenes that would have been common on the estate in the 1890s, as the entire household frequently took to the waters to keep cool during the blazing heat of High Summer.

Wading under the old stone bridge, Chastity comes upon an inflated tractor inner tube, and plays on it for a while, floating about the pool, legs and lower costume submerged in the water, before climbing off and finally drenching herself completely, including using her cap to scoop water over her head, before posing in the sunlight in her drenched costume.

Swimmers were rather more stylish back then!

The Wet Nurses

Uniformed nurses totally soaking each other in the river!

Newly arrived water-gardening expert Chastity has already bound herself to the waters of the estate by bathing in a wedding dress, and had a thorough soaking in her working rig of denim dungarees and jacket, but to symbolise that her work involves caring for the water gardens as well as maintaining them, Nurse Wendy introduces Chastity to the joys of uniformed river bathing.

Of course all of Nurse Wendy's therapies tend to be reciprocal and hands-on, so she willingly takes her turn under the watering can first, allowing Chastity to thoroughly wet her green uniform, and even pour buckets of water over her head, before taking charge and throroughly drenching Chastity in her uniform dress in return.

Traditions and rituals are important in Yorkshire. When she first came to the Hall, Chastity the head gardener symbolically 'married' herself to the land and the waters, taking a deep dip in the river in a beautiful white bridal gown. Now, as she prepares to commence her duties fully about the gardens of the estate, she completes the process, donning her favourite practical working rig of wellies, dungarees, t-shirt, and denim jacket, and wading out into the shallows of the river to be drenched by watering can, enjoying the feel of the water slowly engulfing and soaking her.

Once she's completely drenched, she lies down in the water, changing position as she becomes one with the beautiful ancient landscape of the Dales.

The Water-Maiden of Langstonedale

A marriage ordained by nature

Saturation Hall has a new Head Gardener!

Meet Chastity, Lady Jasmine's new head gardener, and a qualified water garden expert. In the ninteenth century the elaborate water gardens of the estate were one of the wonders of the age, however succesive twentieth century head gardeners neglected these feature, so much so that they'd fallen completely into ruin by the dawn of the twenty-first.

But help is at hand - Lady Jasmine has hired a brilliant young graduate water gardener from the infamous Wildwood Horticultural College, an institution the family were once generous benefactors of, to completely restore the water features, fountains, channels, and streams to their former glory.

But of course, before any gardener can really get the best from their land, they have to feel an affinity, form a bond, really get close to and relate to the natural forces they'll be working with. Hence Chastity's first act on arriving at the edge of the estate lands is to wade boldly into the river, dressed in a magnificent wedding dress, to ceremonially wed herself to the waters of the dale.

She walks calmly into the water, deeper, deeper, the train of her beautiful dress floating on the water behind her as she wades into the deep, giving herself totally to the spirits of the river.

She plays in the water, splashing great sheets of it into the Summer air and all over herself, becoming truly the Water-Maiden of Langstonedale.

And then she wades back to the shore, where she stands in the shallows and accepts watering can after watering can poured all over, down, and inside her dress.
